Bandwidth Management

CloudMeeting has an adaptive bandwidth model based on your real-time network traffic patterns which is to say that it senses reductions and increases in your available bandwidth (inbound and outbound), measures on-going round-trip latency and other items, and makes dynamic adjustments in packet size and transmission intervals accordingly. Along with other aspects of the CloudMeeting platform, this has the practical net effect of minimizing latency, avoiding those audio drops and video freezing associated with some earlier-generation Internet communications technologies, and using your available bandwidth extremely efficiently.

CloudMeeting has features which allow an individual user or an IT manager limit bandwidth demand for CloudMeeting use, both at the individual and the collective level.

Individual Bandwidth

The individual subscriber can let CloudMeeting automatically detect and select bandwidth levels, or through a simple configuration in Preferences a user can limit his outbound and inbound bandwidth allocation for CloudMeeting.

Shared Connections

CloudMeeting automatically detects clients that are sharing a common internet connection, and then equitably distributes available bandwidth to each user based on measured network constraints. If necessary to put a cap on overall use at a given location, our Virtual Gateway feature allows an IT or Administration manager to stipulate maximum bandwidth usage for CloudMeeting for all users as a group on the shared connection, simply informing our on-line support of the limit you would like established. The individual and shared limits are complementary.
