Security and Firewalls
The security of your communications and of your Internet use is primary, and CloudMeeting ensures that your communications are secure and your Internet access is not compromised. Our security features include:
-
Secure authentication during log-in
-
User IP addresses are protected and are not transmitted to other users, unlike in peer-to-peer solutions
-
All CloudMeeting data (IM text, audio, video, and document sharing) is sent via SSL (Secure Socket Layer) and has 128-bit encryption. As a consequence, no one can intercept your communications.
-
If you operate behind a firewall your security will not be compromised, since CloudMeetings pure SSL stream requires that only the standard HTTPS port for secure Web traffic (443) be opened outbound (and only outbound!), and to only the CloudMeeting servers. Port 443 is typically open already on most firewalls for such secure traffic.
-
All communication is client-initiated, which is to say that the server nor anybody else comes looking for you
-
User access and security policies are enforced by the server, not the client
